6 Carnival Foods We Definitely Want to Try

A day out with your family/friends at your favorite Texas festival is never complete without tasting all of the delicious carnival eats available ( (we’re already counting down for the State Fair of Texas and Magical Winter Lights 2017). Today we’re discussing 6 delicious, and let’s face it, mostly fried, treats that look so incredible you’ll probably end up hungry by the end of this blog. You’ve been warned. 

 

1. Fried Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups – Reed Exposition Midway (Magical Winter Lights)

From Oreos, Twinkies, pickles, and ice cream, you can pretty much find anything fried at any festival/ and/or carnival! Magical Winter Lights 2016 had delicious deep-fried Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups – like the one above! Yum.

 

2. Fried Cheesecake – Reed Exposition Midway (Magical Winter Lights)

And just in case fried Reese’s cups weren’t enough, Magical Winter Lights 2016 also had some delicious fried cheesecake!

 

3. Injectable Great Balls of BBQ – Glen Kusak (State Fair of Texas)

BBQ beef brisket is hand shredded with BBQ sauce and molded to form balls. The ball of beef is then breaded with seasoned bread crumbs and deep fried. Served on top of a bed of coleslaw, each order comes with its own pipette of BBQ sauce to be injected into the brisket balls.

 

4. Caribbean Pineapple Korn-a-Copia – Stephen Alade (State Fair of Texas)

Marinated grilled chicken and shrimp are served over a bed of yellow Caribbean fried rice and topped with a tropical salsa and pineapple rum glaze. Served in a pineapple half shell, this Korn-a-Copia will make feel like you’re at the beach!

 

5. Nitro Pop Kettle Corn – Cowboy Kettle Corn (Houston Livestock and Rodeo Show)

A must try! Cowboy Kettle Corn’s Nitro Pop introduced flavored popcorn that is dipped in liquid nitrogen.

 

6. Flaming Hot Cheetos Pizza – Enzo’s Pizzeria (Houston Livestock and Rodeo Show)

Enzo’s Pizzeria combined, on what seems like, America’s favorite road trip snack, Flamin’ Hot Cheetos with America’s favorite food, pizza. The pizza starts with a classic marinara base, topped with mozzarella cheese and is finished off with the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos as a delicious, crunchy topping
