Magical Winter Lights Media Day Recap

The unofficial countdown to Magical Winter Lights 2016 has begun. People Generation held its first Media Day of the year at Gulf Greyhound Park on Junes 13, 2016. While no lanterns were on display at the event, attendees were able to get a taste of what to expect at this year’s Magical Winter Lights.

 

Sally Briggs, general manager of Gulf Greyhound Park, and Yusi An, founder of Magical Winter Lights, welcomed over 30 guests including representatives from eight media agencies and city officials.

Here’s a summary of what happened at the first Media Day:

Inaugural year success of 2015 MWL

During its inaugural year, Magical Winter Lights welcomed over 200,000 festival attendees. The festival was featured in over 40 news articles and attracted local television coverage. The People Generation marketing team was awarded at the American Marketing Association-Houston Chapter Crystal Awards for their marketing efforts in making Magical Winter Lights 2015 a huge success.

More Exciting News of 2016 MWL

Magical Winter Lights’ will have a new home this year! The event will take place at Gulf Greyhound Park in La Marque, TX just 35 minutes down I-45S from downtown Houston. Along with the change in venue, the festival production team has made changes to the festival layout and lantern designs which are guaranteed to “WOW” our guests this year. You can expect expanded Magical and Asia sections, innovative and interactive lanterns, and a fully interactive Dinosaur section.
